17th Century ‘Prize Papers’ available online

kinderbrief17eeuwIn her blog for the British Library, Annelies Dogterom, (Dutch/German cataloguer) offers an insight into the ‘Prize Papers’: a collection of letters from 1652-1832 captured by the British during the many naval skirmishes between the Dutch and British during that period. The collection of letters include personal as well as official correspondence and even missives from children to their fathers (photo).
