British students invite young artists from the Low Countries to perform in London
On 8 May 2014 pioneering young performers from the Dutch and Flemish art scene present a one-off evening of music, stand-up comedy and poetry. Renowned cabaret duo, De Gebroeders Fretz, and finalist of the Leids Cabaret Festival, poet Maud Vanhauwaert, weave together performance, literature and politics.
What makes this evening unique is that it is curated and produced by ten students of Dutch from the University of Sheffield. Their starting question for the project was: when irony no longer dominates the artistic mode, what happens next?
This refreshing performance will be followed with a question and answer session with the audience and an opportunity to meet the artists. Performances will be in Dutch and English.
